who makes this plug?

Website shows nothing like it but I'm 90% sure that it is a Lyman. It sticks in my mind because they called it a "tubby" which reminded me of Tomic plugs. Mine was black with silver sparkles on the top half. Had an action similar to a "Kwik Fish" or "FlatFish" plug.

You know, I can't remember for the life of me what happened to it. I might even still have it in one of my old tackle boxs. I'll try to remember to look for it next time. I do remember it had good action but no takers when I used it in the lake

While we're on the subject of plugs in general and Lyman's in particular, a 4" green rainbow trout pattern(pink stripe) with black spots has caught me more kinds of fish than any other plugs I've used. I've caught everything from chinook to rockfish to lings and halibut in the salt and bull trout and rainbows in fresh water. They make them white belly and off white belly. Go with off white if you can find it.

Yes I'm pretty sure that was a version of Lyman plug. As others said, don't think that type is produced anymore. At least I haven't seen one in a tackle store in quite some time. Maybe check if Lyman has a website that lists all their plugs to see if it's still produced, but just not carried in most stores.

There used to be a company in Black Creek, just south of Campbell River, that made plugs like that. I think they were called "wiggle wood".

That's what I thought but they're not quite the same

Yes, it had excellent action. It seemed to dart around erratically. It was dynamite on the lake of our fishing camp.

Trolling 7 feet behind dipsy diver at 2.3mph 30 feet down just below the thermocline, nailed lakers of all sizes. here was the latest catch;

and another;

It was a toss up between that lure and a 4 inch Atomic melon by moonshine.

Its possible that it was a home made as I seem to recall that my mother had bought it for me at a craft sale in Vernon.

I lost the lure last week. :( .. sure would like to acquire another....
