Where to Launch in Port Alberni

Hey Guys

I'm heading to Bamfield on the june 10th and looking for best spot to launch. Last year lauched at clusti Haven no big deal until we return 3 days later at low tide. The river was rageing the launch was packed and I had to dodge 2 boats on the way up along with a couple sockeye nets. Do you think China Creek would be a better option. Whats the cost to launch and is there a free parking lot near China Creek or do you have to pay? Is the launch good at low tide also? Maybe this year the river is lower and clusti Haven would be better any info would be great.

Thanks
JAC

China Creek is a great place to launch with plenty of space for parking. Their ramp is excellent on any tide. Clutesi on a Saturday or Sunday in July/august would be a nightmare. I only fish weekdays so I've never had an issue at the ramp. As for nets in the river... just keep your eyes open. But in July there will be many more nets in the canal!

Wouldn't worry about nets in the river. Not much netting activity at the moment. June 10 isn't prime netting time. Both launches are great, so no issues there. See you on the water.

clutesi gets yer motors flushed on the way in.. free parking in the rotary park

is the river running as fast as it was last spring? is there any free parking near china creek?
