Wanted Yamaha or Suzuki 70-100hp

Looking for a buddy who wants to repower with a Suzuki or Yamaha(has controls) for his Double Eagle 17.5? Not sure of the exact model year but thinks he needs a 25 shaft. I better get out to the peninsula and measure it up.

If you are thinking or repowering or see anything please let me know. He’s in North Saanich but travels up island and can jump to Vancouver. Was looking at an overpriced rebuild but would like an off lease 2-3 year old engine.

I wouldn't go less than 90hp on that boat.
A 70hp will likely be under powered.

unless it has a jack plate or altered transom, 17.5 double eagle are 20'' not 25''

Merc 70 and 90's look to have the same block? Not sure about Yami and Suzuki. He's not in a hurry, it should still do 20+ knots?

Yes, but it's when you load up the boat with gear
and a couple buddies you'll notice the lack of power
