I have and New in Box JRC 1500 bought 4 yrs ago and have not used or mounted it yet.
I have opened box to see how display would look on the dash.

I bought mine 2 years ago on ebay ... same as the craigslist one above, for $700US. Was very hopeful it actually worked, happy to say it ran perfectly on arrival. <phew>

I'd recommend paying a little extra for a unit that combines radar/chartplotter (like the RL70 above). Very nice in the fog to see both on same screen, even if split screen. Next level up is to have images overlaid, and then add AIS ... but ca-ching.

Thanks for the info guys. My problem is I don't know what I need/want and need to do some research. I'm thinking this might be a good reason to go to the boat show this year.
