WANTED: Halibut Spear and Scotsman

Wanted: A good condition Halibut Spear and Approx. 20 inch Scotsman.

I hand line the poon rope with gloves.....
Somebody might be pipe up more suited but think a 12 inch might be better?

I recalled Wolf saying (in one of his posts) that he used a 20 for his Halibut Spear and since he does it for a living, I assumed that would be about the right size. There was also one in a Video with a large Halibut attached to it, and it looked like it was also around 20. I am still learning about Halibut gear as I plan to get into Halibut fishing soon. I assume 20 inches would be the circumference but perhaps that is not correct.

I would say that circumference is the right thing , a 20" or larger diameter float is freaking huge !

I don't believe so, 20" circ, is only 6" diameter.

So something in the 12 to 15 inch diameter sounds about right but I guess it depends on the size of the halibut that ends up attached to it.

Still need the harpoon first though.
