Thank you folks, I will call both ads tommorow...
One question, I noticed that one of the ads had a "fixed boom" downrigger versus a telescopic one..... which one is better?? Does it really matter? Just curious.......

I have one of each, the telescopic one extends the boom out for
more clearance.good for use on your kicker side to keep gear away
from the prop.

Thank you, you have a very good point.... That narrows down my search to a "telescopic" model for that very same reason. I do appreciate everyone's opinion/knowledge on these matters. Thanks again....

The only thing about the telescopic booms is the further out you extend them the more force you are putting on your boat. So if you're fishing 200 ft with a 15lb ball and current you have to consider it.But that being said u can always telescope the booms in too, just my 2 cents.
