I have a running ready to drop in 2006 350 mag mpi if that works for you? You would likely only have to change controls to a 10 pin, the ecm is on the engine

I would call your local GM dealership and look into a 330 horse crate motor. Prices are reasonably and they are all new not rebuilt. They make amazing boat motors.

Is an automotive motor compatible in a marine enviroment i like the idea just the powerband that the inboards run at is an automotive motor able to maintain the rpms like a marine build?

The major difference would be the cam profile between automotive and marine as the marine applications are much higher rpm operating ranges and constant at that rpm (more torque is also needed as the amount of drag caused by water is alot) . Where as a vehicle uses its transmission gears to lower the rpm and improve fuel economy etc.

I was just quoted $3900 for a reman 6R80 for an F150 from Pro Auto...installation extra

It wasn't horrible 3800 for the tyranny ram 3500 68 rfe 130 for new rear main seal and of course when they went to take it off the hoist the passenger caliper failed(I did notice it weeping)so that was another 800 and just under a grand for the re and re, overall good experience with knowledgeable people and a 2 day turn around. 3 years unlimited mileage

We have installed a few in boats and they preform amazing. They are a vortec 350. Peak torq around 3200 rpm.

A GM truck cam will work OK but the Mercruiser cam is slightly "hotter". Don't use a car camshaft.

I think around 800 hours, $5g it is in Alberta.
