I couldn't find a thread on these hooks, so im wondering if anyone has ever used these trebles when fishing anchovies. Gimmick or not?? They are supposed to reduce the risk of missing short bites.

So I'm asuming the bigger offset hook prong is the one you embed in the anchovie. I don't see how they would help for
short biters, but might help with the hook set as the other 2 prongs would sit out farther.

That is what my hooks look like when I get them back after hooking up hard to Vancouver Island. Less the barbs!

I used one in Qualicum this year in a hoochy, caught a few fish largest being 15 lbs. Lots of shakers. the long hook was the one in the fishes mouth about %50 of the time. I guess you could use it in an anchovy so that the long hook runs either up or down, depending on which smaller hook you use to "embed"

I wouldn't use it in chovie's-the reason I use #2 is to get the hooks in tight to the chovie body and not impede the roll. If you Imbed the large hook which appears to be the one directly under the eye then the small hooks would be quite far foreward and sit up(too high) The length of the hook might also impede your ability to tighten the roll on the smaller anchovies by running into the holder. If you feel you have to -a stinger hook would be much more effective-although I gave them up some years ago. By the way-as a conservation measure I will get rid of all my trebles on chovies as they do too much damage to fish I want to release(a lot) which says something about the effiency of them.

I believe these hooks are currently being marketed by O'Ki as the next big thing in teaser-head hooks....

lol, this is a very mid winter type thread, my apologies. I think an O'ki add is what made me curious about these hooks....
@ SpringFever, I have a similar take on trebles. I think a single treble with no stinger is the best way to fish an anchovy because you can produce a perfect rolland fast.... but releasing fish sucks and has made me think twice about using them...
