I don't get it! Bear whale, why not have an Orca and a bear! Just another Pre-Christmas money grab. Focus on kids, get them to ask parents to spend 40-50 bucks. I wonder if they were even made in Canada! They will sell and then a bunch will be found in discount stores because of over supplies.

I read on another forum that the characters looked to asian and didn't represent Vancouver. So I had to ask.. Have you been to Vancouver lately? Say Richmond..... I have to admit I am glad they used First nations themes for the mascots, but they certainly don't look like the creatures from the First Nation legends. There should have been an open contest with voting to determine our mascots.. IMHO

I wonder about the process of choosing these mascots.
Do you suppose they get say three or four choices or more and get to pick one?
Am not too crazy about their pick, but what can one do about it?

as someone with a design background, I can say for a 100% they would have had many many choices. The artist most likely came to them with 10+ rough ideas and they keep working them until they are left with the finish product. I'd be embarrased if I worked on that project.
