Used Victoria SCAM

I think they just got the wrong price in...
probly supposed to be $98,000.00 ??
it's a welded boat made in Australia
 
i emailed him and he said that is the right price and that he would pay for shipping (from Montreal).

Anybody got a buddy or relative in Montreal that could pick it up?
Otherwise, remain leery.
A quick internet search shows these starting at 50,000 Australian dollars (about 45,000 Cdn.)
So my bet is that it's a scam.
 
That is a scam. I ran into something like that with a car is san fran a couple weeks ago. They pay shipping, you pay half first, if you are happy then pay the rest, otherwise you ship it back. All expenses paid for by them. Obviously a scam. It must be working though because the scam is alive and well!!
 
Well if it is in Montreal my uncle can pick it up.....that usually shuts them up...they then come up with....I am overseas and if you send money I will ship the boat:D

no phone or email listed already because it has set off alarm bells. At the bottom of the add you can report the add, and use "scammer" to report....obviously it has been done
 
I emailed him yesterday when it was still up - he said its in Montreal and he lives in the States now. He also said he'd ship it for free, and recommended we use eBay Motors Vehicles Protection Program to make the transaction. Then I found this:

He also said he'd ship it back (at his expense again) if I had it inspected and something was wrong. Obviously this is a scam, so how do you got about busting someone like this?

Not sure what else you can do, Captain, but put a posting up that it is a scam on the sites you see it, and also report it to the site (Used Victoria - Kinjii) site owners for deletion.
Warning for the gullible.
I also saw the Gumtree warning.

I reported to Used Victoria. At the bottom of a posting there is a link to "Report this ad" Doesn't stop them from re-posting but takes that ad down.

He is presently doing his pastoral year at St. Jude's Catholic in Africa after his 2years of graduate work in theology at Quebec Seminary School . He lamented that the Amp he left with was broken.
