With the rains the past couple of weeks we finally got Haig-Brown Kingfisher Creek flowing pretty good, so some fish have showed up.
Last week I snuck up on a coho in the usual spawning area of the West branch and snapped a pic or two.
Didn't find its mate but saw it the next day.
On the way in this doe blocked our path but begrudgingly moved a bit as we slowly approached.
The next day we went back and spotted a couple of coho spawning downstream about 75 feet or so from the usual place.
Couldn't get a pic.
Also encountered this little spike taking a nap.
He slowly got up and moved aside but didn't seem too perturbed by us.
The Beavers are back and active on the East branch and have built a new dam down close to the church.
Here it is after the center top washed out. Note prominent log.
And the next day after repairs.
Today I found a big female coho spawning with a 12" long jack.
Neat to watch.
Also found another pair just up the West branch with a nice redd on the go plus two Chum in the creek across from the Haig-Brown House.
It was a good day.
Take care.
