I have to do a day trip to bamfield from ukee but know nothing about where to launch and park a truck and trailer for an afternoon. Looking for info. Thanks for any help.

island west marina, just past public docks below canadian princess, has a boat ramp and pay parking, I have launched there and left my truck and trailer in the island west storage area, but it fills fast.

You cannot leave a trailer in the government dock parking lot. Island west maybe full. if thats the case call Pacific Rim Charters, Glen has trailer parking available.

I will be launching my myself. Looks like I should just drive from tofino to bamfield. How long of a drive is it to bam from port?

Ok back to the boat idea. Really there is nowhere to park a boat and trailer near a boat launch. Sucks to be a visitor around here. I never realized.

It took me an hour and a half the last time i ran down to Bamfield

I am going to tow to ukee and launch and boat. There is nowhere to park at the gov boat launch?

There is no "government boat launch". Island West has a launch, maybe will have room to park (very much a maybe).

Alternative is the launch at the old sea-plane base: Turn left off the highway at the Ukee Campground sign, and follow the road down to the water. Launch is best when higher on the tide. Usually room there to leave your rig - talk with the guys at the Boat House right there.

Good Luck!

You can launch at Island West on pretty much any tide ($16.00), and if there is no truck/trailer parking left, tie your boat up, run your trailer out to their trailer lot not far away ($4.00), dump it off and come back and park the truck near the boat launch. Usually plenty of room to tie up without stressing about screwing up the launch/retrieve cycle. They are fully booked next week for moorage, so it will be busy around there.
