Never fished out of Ukee after August but have the green light from the wife, a willing buddy, cheap accomodation and free moorage! I've got a 17' Harbercraft with a 60 so not running out to Rats Nose or Big Bank but Lighthouse and Southbank are in my range. Will there be late springs and/or coho still around Red Can and Little Beach to Amphitrite? Do Great Bear and Alley or the Chrow/Food Islets areas produce this time of year? Coho in Toquart Bay? Run over to Meares? Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

guys brought in a whack o yo-yos from turtlehead last weekend...

Thanks FD and Trophywife. I'm assuming there's gotta be coho offshore and in the Sound still at that time as in the 90's I used to fish out of Tofino after Sep 15th (to avoid tourists) every year with Island West. Coho fishing in the Clayoquot was amazing and I was told by Shawn Bennett that it remained good well into October most years. With rivers like the Maggie and Toquart can't imagine Barkley wouldn't be the same.

I'm surprised that with all the folks on here that fish Ukee that no one fishes it later in the year. Full freezers, fall responsibilities and hunting fever perhaps?

ya , i cut through Coaster , snuck a peak around Sail and Mara , was pretty quiet , 0 boats , didnt bother hitting Turtle , things changed so fast this season..., my neighbor hit both turtle and Outter South friday with a few small fish ,,, i was lookin for Smokers.. found a few all over the wall areas...

I typically leave my boat in the water there till almost the end of October , East Barkley , it is usually pretty dead by then , 3-5 years ago , it was much better later fall ,
with the tuffer year we had this late season , i pulled the pin , boats bak in Van now,,fishin was still decent last week , maybe it will go for a lill longer ,

, lookin forward to my fav table fish , Winter Feeders , Oysters , Prawns , Dungees , as Osama calls it , Seafood Safari...

gd lk out there..
