Sounds like some of our friends to the south in Washington state are gearing up to make a run next week. Read reports of longfins killed off of Oregon already also. looking at Terrafin, the temps and Chloro shots are starting to look pretty good off of oregon and washington.

Cheers,

Yup there has been lot's of talk down South of them showing up early. I subscribed to Terrafin and have been watching it like a hawk!

I love that old clip. I get a kick out of the guy with the army helmet on. Not a bad idea the way a few of those are being flung. Those bigger fish near the end are unreal.

pretty cool stuff about ancient bluefin tuna in our waters!

'Results indicate that bluefin tuna between at least 120 and 240 em total length <TLJ (45-290 kg) were successfully harvested by aboriginal hunters: 83% of these were 160 em TL or longer'

Yes I've heard a little about this-it's thought they generally used paired trawls just dragging net between two canoes although if they could harpoon a Whale they could plug a big BFT too.
