Thanks BearCove! Nice reels.

Just a little pet peeve though...

Anyone ever tried to upgrade the handles on these? I find them to be a bit small.

Lawlu been waiting for a while but im going to do some altering of them when I get the parts im looking for (on order 8 months now!!!)

Ill post when I finally do it!!!

Have had my first set now coming up for its 5th season and they still look great and work awsome some general matenance every year and they will be fine.

for those that have bought them take em apart and spray a tiny bit of LPS or fluid film on the inside clicker assembly as they have nothing in there, then put a dab of "reel" oil on the cork and wipe it all over it covering all the cork wipe up any excess dont put to much on it as it only needs a little.

Then on the handle shafts and thats all you have to do i have to do the cork at the beginning of the season and I redo mid way through but thats after a lot of use. they are a great reel have fun

Good luck Wolf

never understood why the islander and trophy series went to so much trouble to make a good reel, but have terrible handles that are death traps when its wet. Personally, I have shied away just because of this - I just took a squared off handle off the old style daiwa, and put it on my M1 plus - works a dream. Just don't think I would be comfortable with anything else.

Thanks Wolf. I look forward to see how the mod turns out. I tried putting the handles from the 2000GT on the Trophy, but the screws are too short. The handles sorta seem to fit though. I'll post if I happen to find some replacement stainless screws.

Hey Guys,

Reels are now in hand, for those I have talked to I am still on schedule for delivery late next week.

I have asked if there are any more up for grabs and will find out tomorrow if there is. I am hoping for a box of 20 this time so if there are any other interested parties out there let me know ASAP so I can make the call tomorrow if I get the call.

For those of you that have already contacted me in regards to getting a reel you are at the top of the list and I will let you know as soon as I know.

The e-mail address that is linked to my profile does not work, please call me at 1-877-949-7939 or e-mail me at info@bearcovecottages.ca

Thanks

What I dont get Wade is that you had the "reels in hand" a couple days after I talked to you. So one would assume that the reels that I ordered were already in your possesion. Did you give them to someone else?
