There are lots of good lakes around gold river. You can try antler, it has alot of smaller fish but you can work the bottom and we have found lunkers up to 5lbs. You can also try star lake or cunlin lake which is up the logging road to Ucona. Even on muchulat lake fishing over in front of the Aukwanch river(spelling ?) that flows in on the morth side of the lake is very good fishing.
