I bought myself a couple of these at the boat show, and have been quite happy with them. BUT, I had the screws that hold the reel to the rod mount just pull out on me the other day! They only put a number 8 screw in about 3 turns into aluminium!

I replaced with screws and nuts, but if anyone has these rigs, you may want to pull the screws that hold the reel to the rod mount, and put some red Loctite on them!


Otherwise, great reel!

I have inquired if they are any still available at this price.
 
Never had that problem kelly just wondering do your rocket launchers go to the rod seat or is there a plate on the bottom of the rocket launchers so they rest on the butt of the rods???. As thats how my old holders were and the pounding in the waves even broke a few rod seats on a longstone and a shimano 4000 didnt realise how much pressure there is on them.

P.S. this will be my forth year on these trophys and I really like them rumor is another rod and reel company is comng out with yet another reel just like these and the mr3 s.

Yes that all you have to do is drill and put a bolt thru about an 1/2 inch from the bottom so the reel seats dont bang it.

I bet you 20 bucks thats the problem LOL LOL
