treble hook size for anchovy rig

I have been using #2 trebles + a single stinger hook. Thinking of
switching to one treble hook only. What size are people using?
I have #2's, #1's, and 1/0's. Where do you place the hook when running just a single treble?

I run a single trebble #2 and i place it just past the dorsal fin about 2 mm past. this helps give the anchovy the perfect roll in the water. any closer to the tail and it begins to unbalance and whip the tail around.

its all personal preferance to the roll and hook size. but that is what works for me.

I use a #2 extra strong and I'm on again off again with the stinger-It seems to work well either way as long as the roll and speed is "right"

I use #2 3x strong Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp with 3/0 or 4/0 single trailer tied so that it will be sitting at the tail of the bait (or just back of it). I usually hook the welded on barb of the treble into the bait just behind the dorsal at the lateral line. You can always adjust a roll with a bit of neck bend or curve to the bait but you can also change the speed or width of your roll just lowering the hook into the white area of the bait (below the lateral line) or moving the hook back a bit toward the tail. As fishflyguy commented earlier, you shouldn't place the hook too close to the tail...no closer to the tail than the halfway point between the dorsal and tail. I ALWAYS use a trailer (stinger) but I suspect I wouldn't need to change my hook up if wasn't using a trailer.
