Tohatsu outboards

Anyone have any experience</u> with Tohatsu outboards?

Did some research...apparently Tohatsu is the 2nd largest manufacturer of outboards in the world. All Nissan and all Mercury outboards 30hp and lower are Tohatsu's.

A friend of mine has a 90 Tohatsu on his Hourston, only one I have seen in town that I've noticed. I would say the thing is mid to early 90's in vintage. He's been running that thing pretty much issue free for 10 years or so since he bought it. I do recall it having one issue but minor. Other than that, not a lick of trouble. Based on what I've seen, I would not hesitate to purchase a boat that had one on it.

That is correct! Owned one for my dingy! Well abused for a couple of years... it's like a "timex"! "Takes a lick'n and keeps on tick'n!"
