Just getting things rolling for a Tofino thread, mono, fluoro, whatever you use...
With a great outlook for most of WCVI, we have been getting primed for action as good or better than last year for Offshore Chinook and Inshore Coho.
With really limited weather windows in the last few weeks of March, we have seen and heard of good numbers of Springs and Halibut not far offshore. Getting out to the first 140ft contour and fishing from there is usually the best start for Halibut and out to approx 4 miles is normally the Salmon starting point, but I think they'll be all over during the early season. A couple of our guides connected last week on 3 Quality Springs and 3 Halibut in less than 3 hours dock to dock, then the weather kept hammering steady.
Trip out this A.M. is pretty limited with 6 meter and 30-40 W. wind, but has connected with a nice spring in the first hour.....
Some new changes for us over the last 12 months and now ready for action......
Tofino B.C.'s most recommended Fishing Outfitter.
