Heading into desolation this week for work. May find some time to do some fishing. Thinking of scooting up Lewis channel or Waddington to do some salmon fishing. Is this too early? Anyone else had any luck up there?
Probably to early bud. But last time I was up there I did find some great Oyster beaches! When I was up there in June the locals just laughed when brought up salmon. The salmon fishing will be far better for you back at the home hump. Have fun workin!!!
There are still fish around. May and June can be pretty decent fishing. You will never know until you try. Lots of different areas to fish just depends on where you are located. Are you in camp and if so, where?
I'm going to be up there doing some maintenance in a logging camp. Will be bringing up some prawn traps and was thinking about going after some salmon as well.
You should bring your steelhead rod and waders and try some of the remote rivers up there. Might have better luck than fishing for springs in the chuck.
I would fish the mouth of Waddington heading into Toba then in the first part of Toba. In front of the Toba Wilderness Lodge is good. If you put some time in I'm sure you will find some springs. We always do. Lots of options for prawning. Let me know how you make out.
