The sturgeon regulation in BC

I understand sturgeon fishing is catch and release only.
But I read in old magazine that supplementary sturgeon stamps are required "only" if you wish to keep or kill a sturgeon.
I'd like to know that the supplementary sturgeon stamps requirement is still in effect. I am just curious.
