[Charter Tofino]

Anyone hear anything lately? Last i heard it was the dead sea. Headin up tommorow and was hoping for some hali or springs but am not holding my breath for much of either. Any tips on gear or areas? Ill search through the archives as well.

hey kelly yea its been dead but its still beautful youll have a blast. fish baronett pass if oyu want any hope in landing a fish, go to the tourinst info office and there have a locally made brochure/pamphlet on how and where to fish the area, 45-80' on the rigger

Hey Kelly
try using your little rock cod you catch for hali bait just filet them and send them down on some spreader bars with a nice heavy mudraker on the other side it's against regs to have hooks on both so you could take the treble off the mud raker you can buy all sorts of bait for hali fresh cod filets are free and they stay on your gear so you can just keep fishing presentation isn't important, I'd bet you have a trip full of Springs and hali

Hi Kelly, I have seen you around the marina a couple of times. We fished Telegraph last week....real slow for salmon, got one 20lb off Craycroft on a incoming tide and a 125 lb Hali out on Georges Bank..plus the inevitable pinks and a huge snapper...and a couple of chickens
Did not see many other fish at the cleaning station

Yea just as we expected slow slow. We really didnt have much time to fish though. Woke up early yesterday fished donegal head with the crowd. Saw only a few small fish caught so after an hour we gave up and fished halis. Fished the backside of malcolm near lizard? Got one chicken and fished the banks with a few other boats didnt see any caught. Man oh man i would love to hit a big hali we only had salmon gear so probaly wouldnt have been able to handle it. This mornin got another chicken backside of malcolm. Last night we also got an amazing show from a pod of orcas, dolphins and seal lions. All playing together! I got up on the bow and touched a dolphin that was running with us and even threw our bumper in the water for them to play with. They went straight for it!Got it all on pics and vid will post later
