Is there any way to tighten this stuff up? I'm in Baja and know very little about cable steering-not my thing-but a friend has a 90 merc with teleflex and you can grab the motor and with very little effort swing it back and forth. It is incredibly loose! When I had this stuff you had to work like hell to keep it moving. Is there some way to pack or dampen the cylinder in front of the motor-or is there some adjustment to take out what might be slack around the steering wheel? The boat wanders incredably when left alone for a second. I thought the Skeg zinc was either missing or applied in the wrong direction. I don't think that's the case but I'm not convinced! Still I have never seen an outboard that large been able to be moved around so easily by pushing either way on the casing. Is it possible that the cylinder in front of the motor has totally lost the ability to dampen motor movement by either losing all it's fluid or does that tube not act as a damper? Any help as to the right place to start looking as we are basically on our own on this one. No mechanics here! Thanks
