I’ve only had bad experiences with Telus, and their 1 gigabit fibre is useless on most devices since their WiFi speeds are usually capped to about 440 Mbps - 800 Mbps, unless they have WiFi 6 or newer chips, which most don’t.
That being said, Telus fibre speeds tanked a few months after I got it, down to under 100 Mbps down and 10 up, which is terrible, and definitely not worth $100/mo. So even if your devices are hard wired via ethernet cable or have the latest gen WiFi chips, and are capable of 1 Gbps speeds, there’s no guarantee you’ll even get those speeds if Telus has overloaded a node with connections. Overall I think it’s location dependent, but it seemed like a borderline scam to me.
Telus also will jack up the price on a whim, and charge you extra fees, so you gotta keep an eye on your bill. Never really had that problem with Rogers/Shaw.
