Suggested Retail Price 1994 Johnson 9.9 kicker

My dad wants to downgrade his lake boat outboard to a 6 or 8hp. What do you think a fair market value would be for a 1994 Johnson 9.9hp in very good condition with low hours? It starts on the first pull every time runs smooth and looks great. I am pretty sure it is not the long leg version

500-650$ would seem fair seeing as a early-mid 2000's 9.9 4stroke yamaha can be found for 900-1200

Depends how long you want to wait for it to sell. At 500-650 it should sell pretty quickly. At 800-900 it would likely sell in a few months.

Wow I think I sold my 2000 6hp merc 4 stroke LS too low at 500 bucks then.... I was gonna say 500 bucks maybe more if compression/gear oil checks all great and runs/idles great.

500 isn't bad for a 6hp. There is a larger market for 9.9 and the replacement cost of a 9.9 is around 3k while a new 6hp is around 2k.

You probably could've got 600 out of it but might have taken a lot longer to sell.
