Stuck Scotty pulley

The pulley on one of my Scotty 1106 downriggers is no longer spinning. I removed all the screws but I can't get the two halves apart. What's the trick to getting these pulleys unstuck! Thanks.

I think a new one is like 20 bucks. Might just be easier to replace.

I was hoping to get it going again while I wait for a replacement. I live on Hornby Island, so can't get parts that quickly.

Hammer it with WD40

2 screwdrivers on the top and bottom and start prying it open, it will come ( i just serviced all the lodge ones ) once out you will have a brass insert get some steel wool or the green pad and scrub off all the junk make it shiny and clean again lube with a LITTLE very very light corosion block or fluid film. reassemble and your good to go. make sure when re assembling to put the wire ot braid thru LOL.

Thanks for the tip. I thought it should come apart, but I didn't want to break it in the process. I got it all cleaned up and spinning freely. Time to get it back on the boat and go fishing! Thanks wolf!
