Afternoon Gents,
I am new to the forum, and soon to be a 1st time boat purchaser. I live in North Vancouver, and am looking for a boat in the $25-$35k range that is a solid fishing vehicle for the West Coast for both inshore and some offshore fishing. Am looking at some used boats in the 21 - 23' range.
I currently live in North Vancouver and am planning on make multiple (15 to 25) 3 to 4 day trips to fish on the West Coast of Vancouver Island over the next 12 months. My thought was to store the boat in a garage in Port Alberni area (or somewhere near there), and pick the boat up on my way fishing each time to Bamfield.
Would like to hear any thoughts on this gameplan, and if you know how much it would cost to store a boat/trailer like that in that region. Would prefer a covered/heated garage, but price is always an issue.
Here is the rational on why I was thinking of doing this (VS storing the boat near where I live):
-Save money on ferries
-Fish in an area that is "good" for fishing
-I have no storage for the boat in North Vancouver
-Storage would be cheaper in Port Alberni area
-Only have to pull the boat half the trip
Thanks,
Stephen
