Stainless hooks

Yup... They bend way too easy. And cost more.

Used to love the 9/0 ones that were the siwash(dont make anymore) for halibut as once sharp they stayed really sharp didnt bend to many in that size, i use the 4/0 for sponns and hoochies seem fine ,
Scott quit playing them seals so hard LOL LOL !!!!!!!

Yep, seals don't help ...
i like the fact that they take a sharp point as well
but they sure bend open easy.

Try using lighter line. Only ever fished with one guy that bent SS hooks regularly. He always used braided line, a level wind and a short rod for salmon.

not to mention that stainless steel hooks don't rust nearly as fast as regular steel, meaning that hooks lost and remaining in the mouths of escaped salmon have a much higher chance of killing the fish rather than rusting away in time for it to recover.

Nah

SS hooks breaking off from 30-40lb test are almost non existent in my boat , not an issue ,
my gear , ( flashers hoochies spoons... ) not having rust marks everywhere on them after sitting a few days is what sold me ,
anyone that fishes my boat , knows i have a rediculous amount of gear tied up ready to fish , ( sad i know , but works for me )
if your just fishing casually and just have a few tie-ups on the go ,
then maybe SS is not needed , Gammy's for me...

have had a couple SS hooks somewhat straighten on a few bigger boys , but still ended on the deck ,
re-straightened , sent back down , no biggy...

PNT has a good stock on them...

m2b - i like em...

Stainless # 8 or 9 commercial hooks only for me Gentz! They do not bend, and the beaked ones HOLD better than any others I have seen!

Cheers,
Nog
