First I would like to thank Glen Varney and his crew for a top notch run event. Fog and wind on sat made things fun. Sunday only had to deal with fog and congested fishing areas, especially around the island! Little bit of humour could have been nasty, one young fellow reaching for his release clip on a extentened boom reached to far and ended up in the chuck hanging off the clip. Long story short he got back into the boat( a little more awake lol} Anyway back to fishing. Put the team together Sat, hit a ton of pinks along with everbody else but managed two in the low twentys and one teenager spring. Sunday A.m my partner old salior banged a 34.6 off the trap. We wieghed that guy in. Came out and I banged a 29.8 in the gap. We ended number four and number 13 on the fish board! Top ten fish were over 30. Should be great for the Bite Me. Good Luck all Cheers Fc

Agreed, well managed event, thanks to SSES.

We fished Otter both days. Lot of pinks, one spring that broke the leader, long day in the wind slop. At 4 we were talking about packing it in, then got a double header, 28 and 24. Awesome chaos. I had to gaff the big one, as the net wasn't available when I needed it.

This morning, another double header 20 minutes in, 27 and 18. A few pinks, nothing more. Good for #17 and #19 I think.

All in all, very fun fishing!

Thanks to SSES for a great derby, the crew was great. little sloppy on the water on Sat. I was in it with my bro (Bulldog on this site) We managed to head in at 8am with the 39.4 on Sat. Got lucky off the point at Possession, little farther into the harbour mouth so there weren't as many boats but everyone that was around were awesome and gave us lots of room. Thanks guys. That fish was possessed, running out and back and side ways, it went completely slack 4x, couldn't keep up even with the kicker running just in case. 45ft on the rigger 80 ft of water, betsy set up. Hooks popped out in the net. We got a crack at him early to get the net on him and my bro out stretched got him but had a hard time pulling up, but managed to get it in the boat. In the slop we couldn't get a good reading on the scale but we were guessing somehwhere 35-40 so we headed to the scale. We had had another teener not big enough to weigh in and released a smaller one on Sat but we didn't land a spring on sunday.

Another great derby, thanks SSES.We only got one rod out Saturday morning before we hooked up with a 37 and the wife picked up a 17 an hour later. We missed a good pinpopper 20 minuteslater and that was it for us-no springs Sunday.Good enough for 2nd and the wife got a whalewatching trip for 2 through a draw prize[:p]
