Has anyone tried soaking a sponge in bottle salmon oil like the fertilizer kind and put it into the trap for shrimp or crab? I met a guy shrimping who said he did that and it helped increase the catch.

Should work fine.

I used to cut up grout sponges and slide a chunk onto the leader and ad smelly jelly to it.
Worked great.

no but i know someone who soaks a small paint roller in fish oil or whatnot and slides it on the weight side of a spreader for added attractant.
