Hey all,
I've got definite sounder noise on my VHF, both the hard-wired unit and my handheld. No interference when the sounder is off. The shielding from the sounder to the transducer has exposed the internal wiring for about 1/4" near the sounder. Do you think there is enough electronic noise from the wiring to bugger things up? The transducer wires are run on the opposite side of the boat from the other wiring and it affects the handheld as well so I think this is the problem but..? Any solutions? The only one I could come up with was a small piece of metallic duct tape wrapped around the exposed section... I'd use this as justification to pick up a new sounder but this one works to darn well...
Cheers
