We are new to the sooke area and live at the mouth of the sooke river,Hows the fishing in the sooke river??Can you fish the river mouth in the fall??

The fishing in the fall can be really good. You can get both chum and coho on the fly above the highway bridge, it's fly fishing only above the bridge. Most effort is around the trailer park area. You can also get spring if you time it right but it's difficult. There is a lot of area you can explore around the estuary and it could be good during the fall.

So far, Sugar Mag and I caught a few cutthroat, a summer-run steelie and a ocean bullhead/lincod looking thing. And its just a 2 minute walk from the house. Ya just got to get past all the goose poop on the shore.

Try fishing the mouth of Muir Creek (about a 15 min drive past the sooke river bridge) in the fall. Ive had very good sucess there

We have been there.Looks really fishy.Saw lots of action at the mouth.The sea otters were doing better than us though
