Fathersday, so as it's raining too hard to work on my boat, again/still, I decide to go to town. Town being Sherwood Park, they have the closest Cosco. I want to pick up a bunch of ribs and see if they have anything besides Alantic Salmon (Fish Farmed) in yet.
They have a few Sockeye fillets at about $25.00 - $28.00 and there are 3 Gutted, head on, about 7-8lbs, the smallest one was 45 freaking $$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!!!

So did you buy all of them?:p Probably still cheaper than coming out here to catch your own - but not as much fun;) Again the reason that the sport fishing sector is good for the economy and the fish, we spend more money catching fewer fish than the Commercial sector.

I'm pretty sure the comies aren't getting any where near $45.00 a fish.
Hopefully, that 250 HPDI Yami. I just bought will fish for a while on $135.00 worth of gas, of course that wouldn't cover the cost of the ferry ride and it is about 17hrs to Alberni from here, but, I do get out there 2-3 times a year anyways. But then I either pay Guides or fish with my cousin in Parksville. I buy a ramp pass at French Creek every year ($180.00) and use his boat.

Hey Labman,

I moved out here from Alberta and had no idea on salmon prices. I payed around 100$ for every 8 to 10 lbs of coho on the water in North Vancouver thinking I was getting a deal. After calculating what it costs to run a boat and gear it works out to about 200$ a fish if you limit out every day hahaha.

Got to love the sport and the quality of the pacific fish!

Mike
