Heading to Sheridan Lake this spring and wondering as the lake is stocked with thousands of sterile Rainbows are there any that still spawn in the lake? Several of the lodges post pictures of the odd Brookie still being caught and I believe they haven't been stocked there for many years so are they self-spawning as well?

I go to Sheridan Lake every year for the past 20+ years. Will be back there again this year for 2+ weeks at the last half of May. Really enjoyable place to stay and fish. There is very definitely a population of rainbows that spawn in the lake / spawning channel.
Also, while brook trout fry used to be released into the lake, that hasn’t happened for about 20 years or so. There are still remnants of them though, as several got caught every year where we stay. Obviously there still a spawning population of them in the lake. I got a real nice 6 pounder last year.
I’m looking forward to going back there in May, only 2 months to go….
