SFAB South Coast Meetings In Nanaimo

Well I must say I was extremely impressed with the 18 hours of very productive meetings that took place this weekend in Nanaimo. I was only a spectator but have a far better understanding of all the concerns of the many different areas from Port Hardy to the Frazer River and can state first hand your concerns were very well presented by your area reps. I will write a report / synopsis within a day or to. As you would expect Halibut was one of the major concerns in every area and it was pretty much unanimous that what took place with the no notice closure is totally unacceptable. I also must bring to your attention although in many areas fish stocks are declining some rivers saw better then average returns.

Hey Kev-- got a report that you were lurking around the meeting. I bailed at the last minute because of family obligations, so its nice new blood was put into the mix.

Most people completely underestimate the time and effort that the SFAB reps put into the process... sure-- it aint perfect, but it would be a whole bunch worst for sportsfishing if the guys and gals there were not willing to get involved.
