Those things are brutal in Cabo. They jump on the swim grid of returning boats and everyone feeds them there left over bait. Everyone except the Trophy Hunter crew that is!! On the Gordo bank last year one followed us and took every live bait and every chunk bait we put out for Tuna.

Reminds me of something that happened to me a few years back. Been fishing hard all day off Sooke and just as I was
about to give up,a good one takes the bait and ends up dinner in the boat for the way home. I'm so happy heading in with with this nice 20+ lb. spring and can"t wait to get it cleaned and bagged for the way home.Stop the boat,pull out
the knife and start guttin'. Got a hold of it by the gill plate when something grabs it by the tail and just starts reefing!!
Now I'm in a tug of war with a frickin' seal and neither one of us are letting go.I lean back hard,putting all my weight
into it,and the next thing I know I'm flat on my butt in the bottom of my boat holding the torn off head of my fish.
Had to chuckle to myself on the way in,otherwise I would have had to ball my eyes out!

yep funny until it happens to you!
Reminds me of an otter who snatched my freshly cleaned white spring....stuck it in a garbage bag placed it near the side of the wharf - turned my back..in a split second it flew out of the water and deftly plucked my salmon out of the bag. Later some marina live board mentioned " I was sipping cocktails on the aft deck; spotted an otter eating a large salmon on the adjacent log boom, oddly the salmon was cleaned"

Same crazy ******* that dwells the harbor and probably the same one that stole that fish. PANCHO!!! the famous one.......just like some others down there ha ha.
