Scotty trape-ease question

I like the manual labor of pulling up prawn traps at this phase of my life but don't like the potential wear of pulling ropes over the side of the boat. Has anyone used this pulley? Is there anyway to get it to attach to the scotty downrigger mounts? I don't use the scotty rod holders and don't really want to drill into the gunnel again.
 
I think you can use a rail mount onto your downrigger arm then the puller wheel should fit in. I use mine and it does a great job of knocking the water off the rope and making it easier to pull From a better position.
