scotty snubber's

I use snubber all the time, makes it much easier to handle the cannonball in and out of the water.

Long live wild salmon!!!

I use them full time as well.

x2 on making handling easier!

No place I would rather be (FISH ON)

Have used them and I definitely prefer having them on the end of the line.......so you can count me in for x4. ;)

Use them as well...
Find that I have a better chance of saving my ball if I accidentally catch the bottom.

ALways use them. I ocassionally bounce bottom, (intentionally and un-intentionally) and like that they have a lower breaking strength than the braid I use, so they could potentially save your riggers from getting ripped off in the event of a hang up. Plus, they are nicer to handle too.

Well worth the 8 bucks in my mind

Trotac used to have the big black ones for a little less money that seemed a lot tougher with a Sampo on one end and a bronze "eye" on the other that you could open with pliers, attach the ball, then close. Less then a regular canon ball snap, and better swivel and shock absorber to boot. The new straps don't have the ring, they have a snap and don't work as well.

I use the blue ones also. I have noticed that when you get hung up good that the snubber stretches out permanently. I suspect it breaks a lot easier on the 2nd hang up if you don’t replace it.

I always try to use the snubbers on my downriggers.

1- It makes it easier to handle with 15# weights.
2- It protects the wire cable from shock load if the ball gets dropped a bit.
3- If you get snagged, you have a better chance of recovery before the wire snaps.
4- I like the clips that lock onto the balls. Much easier than some other clips out there.

A must on our boat! We Bounce the bottom almost exclusively for big springers and we don't loose many cannon balls with the scotty snubbers.
I prefer the ones with hardware on only one end (part # 371)

Don't stop reelin!

Can't stand those rubber things, they tend to break when doing the constant mud drag for halis and nooks. I make my own using gangion line and ball bearing swivels. Never lose cannon balls unless you are really hung up. Line always breaks at the swivel so you don't lose your power pro. I found that the rubber tends to break down after a week of hardcore fishing, and within another week they are breaking and costing me a ton in lead. So, I have no use for them.
