Scotty 1106 counter skipping

Wondering if anyone knows what's happening with my downriggers. Seems if I lower gear too quickly the downrigger starts banging and the counter is skipping. Seems as though the counter is jumping ontop of the tits that spin the counter. Has been gradually getting worse.

Just drop in some new counters. They get loose and spin too fast and collide with the index bumps as you lower gear quickly. Simple fix, you can do it or take them to Scotty. Mine were no charge.

Ok, I will give that a try. Gets annoying having to reset the counter all the time.

-Remove the counter from the rigger ( careful not to lose the small lock nut)
- with a firm grip on the body grab ahold of the spinning propeller/wheel thingy, with even pressure pull it out away from body to remove...
- with a mild soap ( dawn ) and water wash & rinse the propeller end with a tooth brush, do the same with the flexible parts on the main body which come in contact the the propeller thingy....

Put back together being careful not to strip the male holder posts and go fishing, they get a little gummed up over time......
