salt ice in vancouver area

Anyone know where to get salt ice here in the lower mainland or is it just an island thing?

How much better is salt ice? I see a lot of people talking about it. How much longer does it last? Are there other benefits to it?

It lasts longer and the temperature is lower.... Salt ice is the best way to go.

Lasts 5x as long! and holy hell is the stuff cold. If you bury a fillet in salt ice it will come out partially frozen. Just dig your hand through a cooler of it and you will see what I'm talking about!

Now where can I get some in Van!?

I was told that you can get it at Campbell River Seafoods, but it was shut on a weekend when I was there last year. I plan to go there this year.

During the week in Steveston on the dock at the end of Trites off Moncton

These guys have an ice plant, you could call and ask if they sell to sporties. The crew could use it for beer money like the fish plants in Ukee.
