Well, I could tell you many first-hand stories about salmon enhancement success on the Rhine River. Over 20 years the government and many private societies in Germany pumped millions upon millions of dollars into programs to bring salmon back. Since they were literally extinct from the river they brought in eggs and fry from Iceland, Norway, Scotland etc. They tried a lot but have had very limited success. Once they are gone it's pretty much done.

Sorry to hear that Chris. Not knowing the background, I thought it was more of a random event that might have held more hope for the future. From your description, it sounds pretty pitiful. I was happy to see that they released the female.
