Dr. Jeff Marliave</u>

Perhaps the most colourful family of fishes in BC waters, the rockfish also have a very interesting lifestyle. They are distant relatives of the poisonous, and sometimes beautiful, tropical lionfishes and scorpionfishes. Rockfish are long-lived, slow to reproduce and non-cosmopolitan, making them particularly susceptible to overharvesting and environmental disturbance. Jeff and his team of divers and scientists are working in the field, and in a lab at the Vancouver Aquarium, to learn more about Rockfish.
