At the guides association meeting we were informed of a large number of salmon fry that had died. They were supposedly"surplus" fish. Does anyone have any information on this?
I have made a number of calls no one will return the calls . I asked one of the employees and they said they had a confidentiality clause and was not allowed to discuss it. That is why I am trying this route as I would hate to cost someone their job. I am really curious as to what surplus fish are at this day and age. The discussion was that there were close to a million chinook fry killed .
Voters should not allow a confidentialityclause in agencies without national security involved. We have same problem this side of the border. And since when are fry surplus these days?
I have to agree.. Seems like a shame that the eggs were taken from the wild at all now, at least a small percentage would have returned, now none of them will. They lost 60 000 steel head there last year as well.
Am I the only one who finds it strange that after 453 views no one is talking about this??? No offering of an explanation or clarification on what actually happened?
I believe 100,000 S1 eggs died and destroyed .....so there will be no small fish for the experiment this year..just lost my minutes from the SFAC- alberni meeting..searun will be able to fill in the holes...
