I have friends that fish spider every year in early August. I was there about 3 years ago and boated a 55# spring at the northwest tip of the island where all Joe's Salmon Lodge boats hang out. The Rivers Inlet hogs seem to pass thru this area.

Ya, good fishing in that area, picked up a 68# there last year, it wiull have me coming back for ever now. I think that alot of that fish is heading to Rivers for sure

A friend just got back from Spider and Rivers...said they limited out in 30's and 40's. Stopped in at Duncanby and saw a 72# being weighed in from Drainy Inlet.

The crew I was fishing with have been fishing up there for about 25 yrs. They talk about having that place to themselves for years and limiting out on hogs. Fish with lots of Haki and Joe's boats now, pretty well known with those groups now. Still an amazing place to fish. Only 47 more weeks till I get to do it again.

Bear Cove, that's a nice rig! You've got ton's of room in the back and a walkaround. Do you use a kicker? I have a friend with a 25 grady that fishes Rivers every year. He connected a small Honda to the main engines and handles very well. Ever tried fishing Spider in September? Just wondering how late the springs move by there.
