Heading to RI next weekend- wondering if any of our posters have any reports whatsoever about current fishing results there?

Thanks in advance

A buddy of mine was up there a couple of weeks ago and apparently the slabs were there, unlike last year. You should have a great trip. SS

Here's some pics of the 75 from rivers. They had another monster on for 3 hours between 90 and 100 before it spat the hook.

Damn that's a pig. What a monster. Been awhile since I've seen fish like that at Rivers. Cool.

The guy who caught it was a good friend of my buddy. And he said the one they lost may have been bigger. But Wow, that is amazing, couldent imagine somthing like that beside the boat

pretty big fish, would have helped out future salmon stocks to measure and release the fish. Sure makes things pointless for the guys in the charlottes trying to release big fish when guys just kill them after...

Well then.....WOW!! Very nice indeed! If they get the forest fires under control I will be in Bella Coola on Sunday. Maybe I'll take a little boat ride down to Rivers. Some of those monsters do swim through Hakai Pass so I could try there as well!!

Just heard more news from Rivers that a lodge guest released a 78# (by measurement)and private boater released one about 70#.

Rumour has it that was the guys first fish ever. Nice.. Karma is having a great year. Port Sidney derby champ and now 75#. Tough to keep up !!

Rumor is right, this guy used to work as a guide in ukee if im not mistaken. He also helped a good friend of mine get a job here in victoria. dont quote me on it. but this is what i hear.

That is a fantastic fish and the others released huge also!
Is "Karma" guiding up there?
Who's the angler that caught it?
Would be interesting to hear more details.

Hell of a good fisherman. Got a lot of good Karma.

Anglers name is Grant Sjervan and yes that was his first fish. He's going to get it mounted.Trevor Skakun isn't guiding up there, this is just an annual trip that they do.Grants other big fish on the trip was a 47, so lets just say he's hooked forever.

I just spent the last week fishing up north of Rivers and the fishing was out of this world. We were into at least 20 fish a day everyday we were there and they were all big slabs. Did not come home a fish under 30#. These fish are headed to Rivers, should be there in a week or so so the fishing is going to continue to be great up there.

You own a lodge or something BEARCOVE???

There were not a lot of fish caught at Hakai- just around the ocrnner from Rivers that time period.

I just returned from 8d ays at Rivers0 fighiong was NOT that great- a few caught in 70's early- and in the alst 8 days only 1 or 2 in 50's caught- one of the Good Hope boats measured and released a 60.

my partner and I caught 5 total fish- 28 to 42- lodge caught 19 chinook in that same time period

AVERAGE year at best- no matter what they tell you

maybe next year?

I have a Sports Fishing Resort on Port Hardy and head up past Haki the first week of August every year.I had the best trip ever this year and I have been going up there for 7 years. Did not come home with a fish under 30, had our limit by the second day and hunted for the big one the last three.
