Rivers in Parksville Area

Hey, going to parksville for a hockey tourney and was thinking of taking my son fishing one day, anyone know of a good river in the area, fly fishing and spin casting? Any info is great thanks.

The Big Q above the Hatchery has a lot of small trout. there's a few good spots to fish on the North side above the hatchery. About half a mile up there's a bar. There's a "beer can on a stick" at the beginning of the trail down to the river.
