Richmond crab processing factory fined more than $110K for obstructing inspection

There’s the entire supply chain of crab and prawn poaching under DFO’s nose and they barely do anything about it. What we get to hear in the media every once in a while is just a small portion of what happens everyday and deliberately gets ignored by DFO.

That first photo the crab doesn’t even look legal if you look where the tape starts... unreal.

DFO’s enforcement capacity has been an issue under different governments and not much has been done to mitigate the issue. What frustrates me even more is that we the sporties get painted as a risk to the resource by NGOs and FNs while the poachers keep depleting the resource and get away with it most of the time.
