Real or Fake???

I just tried this test with 40lb seagur blue, 8 lb Pline CFX and 4lb Berkeley vanish.

Not one of them would stay burning afterwards. I was using a butane torch not a Bic lighter.

I'm convinced this test works.

Using the Scientific Method to rule out test bias, did you do the same to the fake Flouro?

Very interesting.Just tried the lighter test on some maxima 100% flurocarbon and it won't ignite either. Regular mono is
a whole different story. Burns like a hot damn!I guess I'll be staying away from any super cheap Fluro on line from now on.

I don't have any fake that I know of but using the test on 3 separate brands is enough for me to be very suspect if I come across some flouro that burns. Kind of like rubbing silver against a white cloth as an initial test.

Of course other tests should include breaking force, knot retention and optical qualities. Possibly fake Flouro would be obvious in a fish tank compared to real Flouro re optical qualities.
