I’m going to have to get a new radar. This old JRC 1500 MKII that is shown in pic will be changed. After the outboard conversion and updating the electrical system they couldn’t get the old screen and brains to start up. It’s getting power as I’ve tested the cable but it not waking up. It’s an old system from 2003 so best to just update. For some reason this got me thinking about flipping the tower around. It's all astetic at that point. It's might actually improve the angle looking at your picture. Need to be point downward just a tad. Could be just the picture angle. Just my 2c
It looks as though your link did t show.Look at furuno. I'm checking out of this one
That seems like a good deal. Just a $100 more than the Lowrance dome at Harbour Chandler. Simrad and Lowrance I believe are all compatible, made by same company, Navico.I went with this as on sale and lodge boat has it and been using for 6 or so years.. and been told can network into lowrance reason i went with this get dome and screen cheaper then dome alone.....
But with this deal you get the halo20 plus a 9” simrad mfd and transducer that can be sold.If it were me I would keep looking for a used one. They come up often.
If your spending 2k just get the new halo ones. HC some times has sales on them.
I was looking at this brand which has forward and aft and also can come with anchor light. HC sells them . https://www.amazon.ca/Scanstrut-APT...8ae3631be8de46e319aef74&qid=1768089479&sr=8-5If I switched the tower around I’d have the wiring hole in the front, which could get water in it easier. I guess I could find a rubber plug for that hole and then drill a hole on the other side of the tube.
Yeah they look nice but I was trying to save $500-600 by reusing mine.I was looking at this brand which has forward and aft and also can come with anchor light. HC sells them . https://www.amazon.ca/Scanstrut-APT...8ae3631be8de46e319aef74&qid=1768089479&sr=8-5
Are the simrad radars blue tooth or cable communication?Got the old radar dome off and the 30 plus feet of cable out of the cabin ceiling. It was all coiled back and forth in the ceiling. I was surprised how much cable there was. Could have rigged a seiner.
If anyone needs a JRC 1500 mk2 dome, I have one.
They’re a cable. Wolf told me his was a thin cord. Much thinner than the cable I just pulled out.Are the simrad radars blue tooth or cable communication?
